Counting the days...

We're doing special things each day to celebrate Christmas! We began by making a special Advent Calendar...

First we painted 24 toilet tissue rolls red:

Then, we stapled one end of each one:

We cut out and attached pretty christmas paper to each roll:

And put in strips of paper that told what we were to do each day:

We strung them on red yarn:

And hung them on the wall!

This was a fun idea for an advent calendar that I got from the Maya Made Blog! I changed some things, like instead of sewing the rolls closed, we just stapled them....and wrapped papers around them instead of just putting the embellishments straight on.... And she has hers on a board, which I think I would like to do actually.

N Week, Snow Angel and Dinasours

We squeezed a week's worth of school into three days to be able to have Thanksgiving break, and it snowed on Monday which was incredibly distracting, so we didn't do many crafts for N week. Mostly color pages.

Liam loved playing out in the snow though! He threw snow balls and made a snow angel and didn't want to go back inside until mommy bribed him with hot coco!

Liam's been drawing on his own (not for school) alot lately. Here are two of his recent creations, he is getting very good:

M Week

I didn't take many pictures this week, but we did more than what's here!

I've had Liam do a bunch of drawing projects lately, and here are two of them.
We have this cool book in his school curriculum this year called First Thousand Words. This week, we looked at the pages about an amusement park and a circus. I had Liam draw pictures of what he liked from the pages.
This first one was from the amusement park page, and he drew a Rifle Range.

And for the circus one, he drew a rabbit in a hat and a tight rope walker:

His drawing is improving by leaps and bounds and I like to give him these projects to give him the practice!

L Week!

This week was L week and we did some new and challenging things this week!

L color pages:

L word search. These are new for Liam and while he needed a little help, he is learning how fast!

Instead of glitter, we used Thyme!!!

Liam was supposed to draw a picture of some "L" and then write a description. It's supposed to say "A lamb giving a boy a ride". I think he got tired of writing:

And lastly, he was supposed to draw some of the L things we talked about this week...he drew a lady bug, lamb and leaf!

K Week!

This was our first week back to doing school after taking a three week break since Heidi was born. It was good for both of us to get back in the swing of things!
Liam was excited to do school again, and this week we learned about the letter K!

New Sister!

Liam has a brand new sister: Heidi Anne! She was born on October 9th!
He was so happy to have a sister. The first thing he said when he met her was: "I love her already!"
And boy does he!
